ACK!!!1
Please tell me they move if you poke them or pick them up!
I've had two baby ribbon snakes and a baby garter die... they were compleatly upside down when I found them ... one had it's eyes already go into its head (I think it was dead for 24hours or there abouts) so I know it was dead...
But now your makeing me wonder on the other two!
I picked them up and fliped them over etc...
I would hope that if they were pretending they would have moved at some point...

Hey,
No they wont move if you bother them. They stay perfectly still until they feel that it is safe. I took about 20 pictures of this guy in the same position and then when I layed him back in his cage, he waited about 10 minutes to flip over and scram...They play dead pretty good and even if they fall out of branch and fall to the ground from about 4 inches high they still go nuts and play dead. Its just natural to them and they do it so well.

I've caught hundreds of T. radix and have never had one do that. Just the usual buckets of musk. They must be hangin' with the hoggies too much
