are albino's eyes more sensitive to bright light?

itsazoo Jan 06, 2005 01:32 PM

I just ordered a Bell Albino from Sandfire through the store that I work at. In our quarantine room we were using a heat lamp on the tank and he seemed reluctant to open his eyes. Now that I have him home in an unlit tank (I use UTHs) he seems fine, exploring like a little champ.

yes, albino leopard geckos are much more sensitive to light since they lack the black pigment, if you want to use an overhead light, although its not necessary, use a blue or red light, UTH's are better for them though

yeah, i agree, they are a bit more sensitive than other leos. however, only my bravest, most acclimated geckoes really come out during the day, with the overhead on. they are nocturnal, after all.
