Do Ball Pythons Pee?

Ses01 Jan 06, 2005 02:45 PM

Hi everyone. This might be a stupid question. But do Ball Pythons normally pee? I have been told they don't, but two days ago my adult male let out a huge pee that would have put me to shame. LOL! Just curious. Thanks.

If it eats and drinks...it pees and craps...no matter what kind of animal it is...

I only asked because I was told by a few people that they don't, which I knew was absurd. But also if you look at the care sheet on this web site for BP's, it also says in there that they don't, which I thought was very weird of them to post that...

Usually they don't have "liquid" pee - most snakes process liquids so efficiently that their urates are passed with feces (the "white" stuff) as a solid. But I'm sure there are times when a python that has more than adequate liquids will "pee" occasionally. Mine usually don't, and they all have large water bowls. Not sure if excess liquid urine would be considered a problem.
