My tokay gecko was calling this morning. This is the first time I've ever heard it. It startled me for a second before I realized what it was. It was louder than my alarm clock. If only you can get the things time to call every morning at 6am.
He's calling for a female that he does not have. One of these days I'll get him a female. I need to be more established. I'm having a hard enough time getting and keeping crickets for my other geckos. I tend to feed him more pinkies than my leos. He gets crickets when I get them, but it seems lately that his diet consists for of pinks. He usually gets what my baby corns do not eat. It works out well. There is usually one that will not eat in a certain feeding period. If they all eat then I get him a pink from the freezer.
I think he like his new set up. Before he was with another male. Since then I found a new home for that male and I kept one. He has a 40 gallon tall to himself full of vegetation logs. He still uses that glass more, but sometimes he'll hide under some driftwood. All I need is some moss to complete the look I was going for. I don't have humidity gage, but it has got to be humid in there because there is water in the gravel at all times. Temps are around 75-80. Looks like a healthy male tokay to me. Now it has been confirmed. Enough blabbing. Just thought I'd share with you what happened this morning.
