Rescue vet check today--parasites.....

Drakosmom Jan 06, 2005 04:43 PM

Lizzabella has parasites (round worms and flukes--maybe pinworms too)--but that was a given considering her condition.

The vet and I were discussing using Parazap for 2 weeks and then using the other meds if the second fecal was still positive. Any thoughts--or should I just go with the meds first---we thought Parazap might be gentler to her system because she is still somewhat stressed.

Her color improved dramatically today--lots more yellow showing through. She had lightened up enough to show some burn scars on her tummy and tail...most likely from a #$%$# heat rock.

Thanks for any suggestions from those of you who have delt with this before.

I'd go with the meds from the get go. Yes they can be very hard on the system but parazap is more of a profalactic than a treatment once the parasites are established. Good luck with it.
