What do you guys think about mixing species? Mixing different pythons, boas, anything. I would like to try and mix a ball python with a cali king. If I could mix, what species would be the best to mix?

Thanks

Try mixing a BullSnake with a Rattlesnake. What you get is called Brattler. It looks like a Bullsnake with rattles. It still has fangs like a Rattlesnake, but no venom. It still hisses a lot like a Bullsnake. It can kill you, though. What it does is bite and hiss at the same time and it inflates you like that. Very painful. However, I do sell a kit for just such an emergency. It's called the Brattler Bite Emergency Deflation Kit.

Do a search on the forum...there's been several threads on it before.

I wouldn't "mix" a kingsnake with any snake, even a ball python because there is all ways the chance that the kingsnake might eat the other snake.

.........The "idea" has been around for a long time. Lots of the folks on the forums I visit think that what you wind up with are mostly worthless "mutts"........But you will find some subject matter on that topic under "hybrid discussions" Not really my cup of tea. I kinda draw the line at breeding "intergrades" that already occur in nature...........

Taipans are the BEST to mix anything with. In my oppinion, they give you the most bang for your buck.

I meant what would be a good snake to live with my ball. I don't plan on breeding.

Whenever possible it is best to house your snakes individually. If you absolutely MUST house something with your ball python for whatever reason.....I would suggest ONLY another ball python.
