Mealies for Gypsy my baby girl...?

Schizmsgrl Jan 06, 2005 08:33 PM

Hey Everyone!!!

I was just wondering how big my Agama should be before i try and offer her mealies? I am thinking she is still too young, as you have seen, she is not very big....Dont know exactley how old she is, but she is rather small. (Mike guessed about 6 months old).

Thanks alot!!! ~Schizmsgrl~

Thanks Eve, and yes,she is a sweetie!!

I think I will try mealies, I am curious too see if she would like them...What do I do, just put one or two in a shallow dish right? lol

I am still having a bit of trouble getting her to even drink water out of her dish!! She usually wont, she only wants to drink drops of water off my finger tip!!! Once inna GREAT while I can get her to drink out of her bowl, but not often at all, maybe every few weeks!!
I can always tell when she's thristy, cause the minute I put my hand in her tank, she runs right over and starts licking it!

But anyhow, I am gonna look into the mealies.

I also want to tell you that I checked out your Suncatchers Site, and I have to tell you that you have done a wonderful job on it!! Your Collareds are simply beautiful!! I just love them so much! Do you breed them to sell, or simply for pets?

I never thought that I would have such a fascination with reptiles until we got our Gypsy. Now there are a few other species I would like to get, and, thanks to your site, that also includes a collard!! (I am sure my husband will be thrilled!) lol

The other lizards I'd like to have someday would be a Beardie, & Chuckwalla.

Anyhow, I have rambled on long enough like always! Thanks for listenin'

Silly girl, sometimes she likes to laze around with her back legs stretched out.... So funny!

As far as getting Gypsy to drink , mist the sides of her tank and let het lick the droplets.

OR get a paper cup, put a tiny pinhole into the bottom, fill with water, and sit it on the top of screen, let it drip down on to a plants leaf below, or a rock, she will lick it.

Yeah, they are pretty cool, and you have the bug, hehehehe once you fall in love with one, there are so many other cool ones.

You said you saw my guys, and asked if I breed, Yes, I do. I keep all my adults, they are all pets, and some kids, and sell offspring.
Love all my guys, but yeah the collareds are so colorful and pretty, ahhhhhhhhhh I never get tierd of taking their pics

Keep in touch we can talk through email this spring , LOL Your husband will get hooked also, collareds are not only beautiful, but if handled get really tame, and super friendly.

Fun to watch because they are an active lizard
I also love my big ole sloppy chuckwallas, you mentioned them, the one guy, likes to be scrathed in the neck area like a dog he cocks his head while your scatching, LOL

Good luck, keep hubby involved, just a tip, its much cooler when your into lizards and their care together, other wise they can resent the time you spend on them.
I'm the only one into them, my hubby thank goodness supports me and THEM, but I know many who have problems.
