I'll try to get up more hatchling photos soon, I am way behind b/c of school finals, then the holidays, and now a move (oh yeah and add 50 hours of work a week)... does it ever stop?!...

very cool, nice pattern!
man, i wish i was able to get my hands on henks like these. the only ones i could ever find were pretty plain colored. you definitely got your hands on a killer pair there. just a couple questions for you ben...do you keep all of your hatchlings? and what everyone always asks...what do you keep the pair in and what are the temps?
Thanks for the compliments… I am holding onto all their offspring as I have quite a few unrelated specimens (adults and hatchlings from additional parents) in which to pair them. This pair was kept and bred by Kelly Sharp previously and they were hatched by Chris Caetta in the Spring of ’01. They had been housed in this exact cage (with slightly different cage ornaments) before my recent move;

(It’s the equivalent of 225 gallons)
Now, seeing as I have less room, they are in an upright 40g breeder. I try to keep them at a constant 72% and between 70-90% humidity.
(This is another pic of the male)

That's a nice enclosure. How was it sealed, or rather what was it sealed with?

I assume you mean the inside. It's sealed with a product called Envirotex Epoxy. It's a two part mixture that pours onto a level surface and it self levels. You have to do some math using their numbers to figure how much volume of each part you need to cover a specific area without wasting. Once its spread slightly, you blow out the bubbles with a butane torch and let it set. It's a GREAT product, environmentally safe, non-clouding and will last for years. The down side is that it costs about $100 bucks gallon (one two part set). It goes a ways if you do our math right, it can spread as thin as and 1/8 of an inch I believe. If you are interested more, chris_harper2 was actually the head of this cage building project, he has a ton info about on the caging and habitat design forum.

Chris is currently working on custom cages that will streamline my Uro project. I can't wait to get them. Chris has an amazing ability to visualize, put pen to paper and throw something just like, or better than that cage together in a couple afternoons. He can literally draw up plans for a snake rack (something that requires precision anyway) in the AM and have it ready to go in PM. He has years of experience in animal keeping and cage building and he has had his hands on pretty much everything imaginable. So he knows the practicality of certain design.

Great pics Ben! Beautiful!
Can I ask what generation they are? i.e. are you isolating specific traits yet?
I swear the mom has purple on her skin.

Uroplatus sikorae
These are F2 adults… There is no isolating traits here!... Just nature taking its course! The female actually does have that much purple pigmentation… The picture turned out extraordinarily well as I caught her in the right mood and the flash hit her just right… Not to discredit her at all of course…
Here's another male breeder of mine (hatched by Kelly Sharp)...

Ben
while we're on the subject, here's another hatchling produced by a different pair than the ones previously mentioned... This one, I think is striking...

All of these animals are spectacular. They are amazing! Do you sell many? Or are most holdbacks? If you are planning on selling any this year, please give me an email at leland@dwgeckos.com with some info. Thanks alot.
