Hello,

I have two Middle-Eastern Greek Tortoises. I'm not sure of their exact age, but I've had them for about 2 years and they are both about 6 and a half inches long. They are both parasite-free and they are being kept on a substrate of newspaper with a large, deep digging box of bed-a-beast. They have adequate light and heat set to temperatures recommended by most sources I've found on Greeks. They are being fed a diet of mixed greens supplemented with vitamins.

A few months ago, I started to notice them mating. They have mated several times now, but the female has not layed any eggs. Many people have said that she might be too young. How can I tell? Should I seperate them? Should I use a different substrate? I have noticed that if I use bed-a-beast or sand as the main substrate, my male develops a slight runny nose so I'm reluctant to switch off of newspaper.

Thank you
