What is the best bedding for my heated outdoor Redfoot house?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best bedding to use in my heated Redfoot house. Does it need to retain humidity?

i like to use hay its easy to get and use and also is cheap and edible for most tortoises

no it dosent in my experence just make sure that the cage is semi moist
