Off Topic: Photograpy Question

Hi, When I try to post pics. to the gallery I get an error message telling me that the file is to big and that the pixels are to high. Tried cropping the pics. but made no difference. This is the first digital camera that I have owned. Any tips from the more experienced on how to correct this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gadzooks

If you have the option of adjusting image size in an application when you downlaod an image from your camera I would start there. "On screen" viewed images only need to be at roughly 4"x6" at 72pixels per inch (ppi). Anything more is overkill, downloads slowly or just gets rejected like you are experiencing. Some cameras have a "web" or related mode that keeps the files small for viewing quickly and easily on the computer. I think that it is best to shoot big and resize for your needs afterwards. If you get an image that you really like and want to make prints with you cannot go back and add info or increase file size. It's the old saying - "you can always cut more off, but you can never add more back on".

good luck, J
