Heating questions

ShadowDruid Jan 07, 2005 12:48 AM

Hey,

I'm interested in getting a ball python but had some heating questions first. What type of heater should I use ? undertank ? heat lamp ? or should I use both ? also... how do I keep up the temp in the cool side.. it's cool in my room so I don't think room temp is good enough... any suggestions / comments are most welcome. thanks in advance.

What I have done for my BP is I got a heat lamp and a very small (like office sized) desk heater. I pu tit under her stand, pointing up at the basking area end of her tank and adjusted the thermostat to where it creates a nice heat in the basking area to about 88, but it projects enough heat off that the cooler side is about 80. She really seems to like it. But that's just what I did. An under the tank heater is really good too...
