As baby time gets closer lets here what you are hoping for this season.......more

Well, this is my list of hopefuls this year. Brought to you in my long winded form. Lets here what you think has taken and what you might be getting for Christmas in the Spring (what you all call baby time!)

Update on breeding activity. Most of my female boas have already gone through their POS and I believe I have 6 Gravid females this season out of my total of 8 possible breeders this year. My Leticia Female I did not breed as I wanted to give her 1 more year to size up (she is an 02 import). And my Ivory Anery that produced so many beautiful Ghosts and Hypos last year caught a cold (URI) and I have pulled back from breeding her and kept her alone. She has cleared up nice and I don’t know if any of her other introductions have taken but if they have not I would just as well let her recover totally this year and be ready for next.
Next season (always planning ahead) I am hopping for 10 breedable females and plan to hold back a few more from this years breeding, maybe as many as 4.4 babies. Any way here is what I hope to have produced this season. Many of my females have been giving a “second chance male” to breed with also just in hopes that they will take either way.

Anery 66% Het for Snow Male x Albino Female (01 1st year breeding)- Albinos Het for snow and Double hets for snow. This is the only male this gal has met, and I am really hoping that the 66% works out for me!

Albino Het (00 1st year breeding) Female with a Double het for Ghost male (01) Hypos with a chance for quad Hets for Sunglow, Ghost, Snow and combinations there of WOW!
The second Chance male for her is an 03 Salmontine/Suriname Cross (beautiful snake) that will/should produce beautiful Salmontines possible Het for Sunglow!

Colombian/Suri Cross (Huge 9’ Female) with Salmontine male 01- Nice Salmontine babies. The second Chance male for her was also the younger Salmontine Boa from above.

Ecuadorian female (01 1st year breeding) with High Pink Striped Line Male or a Peruvian/Hogg Island Cross- Nice pink and red babies.
The second Chance male for this snake is a Peruvian x Hogg Island Cross that I received in a trade this year. His color and markings are stunning but I did not have another Ecuadorian male ready to go with her yet, hopefully next year.

Huge Colombian Female 10’ 60lbs with a Salmon Male 01- Should be lots of pretty Salmontine Boas.
Second Chance Male is a 01 Double het for Ghost male, in case the Salmontine does not hit the mark, hopefully the other Hypo will

Ivory Anery Boa (00) x A Double Het for Ghost male, they bred last year and produced some beautiful babies- Beautiful Ghosts, Double Het Hypos and Anery Boa
I don’t think she will produce this season she developed an URI that took some time to clear up and I have been keeping her separate since then. No second chance males.

Double Het for Ghost Female x a Leticia Anery Male 02 or a Double Het for Ghost Hypo Male, some new blood into the ghost line- I am excited to see what the Leticia influence will bring to the Ghost projects, no one else that I know of is working this line!
Her second Chance male is also a Double het for Ghost Male to produce possible Dominant Ghosts and Hypos.

I also have a Leticia Female that might be breedable this season, but I think I will give her one more year. She took the year off to increase in size, but next year she will breed with her fellow imported Leticia Anery that I got from Ben a couple of years back, to make pure and true 1st generation captive breed Leticia Boas

I did not hold back too many babies this season, I kept a Ghost Male and a Male Double het for Ghost. I also got a Double het for Sunglow from Mike at Basically Boas this season (also het for striped to boot), but all those won’t be ready to breed at least until nest season (06 season), By the 06 season I hope to have my Striped Lined Females of age to breed with My males that I kept and bring back my line of Co-Dom High Pink Striped Boas. Oh I forgot, I also got a 1.2 group of imported Guyana Boa this season (beautiful animals) that I hope to breed pure as well as add to the albino group, maybe even through in some Salmontine blood their way. And speaking of odd ball breeding, I did get 1 male Peruvian x Hogg Island Boas in a trade this year, I know it sounds like and odd combination but they really are neat looking boas, Just not sure what I am going to do with them?
Ok enough of this ramble, tell me what you think of the combos this season and let me know if you think any other combos of them would be better. I am hoping (as I always do) for a banner year this year and can’t wait until next May to see what comes due! Until then I plan to occupy my time in Costa Rica in Nov and Maybe some time down in the Everglades come spring, I like to get to the swamp once a year and see what is going on down there.
Of course none of this is including my 40 corn snakes LOL, or my Spotted or Childrens Pythons……
Thanks for reading my ramble

I am hoping my male dumerils produces this year. He is now 2 1/2 years old. Hope is coloring proves to be genetic and I get some babies that look just like him.
