A pairing for this season....

ghireptiles Jan 07, 2005 09:59 AM

This is a good 5' male amazon and he is paired with a monsterous c.b.b. female emerald. I think the hybrids are really cool and hopefully these guys will do their thing!

Good luck Matt. Some CB Hybrids would be outstanding, it's never been done before that I know of. I know there was a planned hybrid/hybrid breeding but one of the animals was lost so that never happened. Definitely keep us posted on the progress!

that female is one beautiful chunk.....what does she weigh? this may be a dumb question but can the hybrids reproduce?

Not yet known if they can reproduce. There was a pair of hybrids that were supposed to be bred, be I believe the male died before they were put together, so it still hasn't happened. Even the cross breeding of Ammy/Emmie has not happened in captivity that I'm aware of. So far as I know it just happens when a WC Emerald female comes in gravid and drops hybrids.
