Albino???

cornman Jan 07, 2005 11:48 AM

I recently bought a baby corn form an ameteur breeder, but the only way he described the color morph was albino. I was wondering which morph this actually was. I'll try to post some picutres when i find my digital camera(recently moved)

Thx for yoeur help.

Most likely amelanistic. Look at the pupils of the eyes. If they are pink instead of black, he's amelanistic. Though there might be one or two other mutant genes in the mix, too.

He's a snow corn. Nice looking little guy. Good luck with him.

Hmm. I'd say there's far too much colour for that to be a Snow. Looks to me like an Amel about to shed. Or maybe just an Amel photo that's been bleached out by the flash?

So it is hard to tell exactly what it is. A picture showing its actual colors after shedding will do more for telling you what it is.

It may simply be an amelanistic, but the shedding skins is causing a different cast on the coloration, making it even look like a possible butter. I doubt it, though. However, I think it is definitely not a snow corn.

this is a repeat of the picture this time its through my photo gallery instead of a online image hoster. (the reason you couldn't see it was becasue i maxed out my daily transfer allotment). This is also not a great picture still trying to play with the settings on my camera to get the best look out of my snakes.

I will have to agree with the concensus that the snake pictured is not a snow.
It does look amelanistic with what looks like a lot of yellow.
Definitely post another picture after it sheds.
I think we will be able to be more specific then.
