feeding trouble

cmh7s Jan 07, 2005 01:36 PM

I have four balls. All eat well however they insist on giving me trouble with their selection of foods. I raise rats which I freeze myself so, I would prefer it if they all ate f/t rats. However, two of them will only eat live rat pups and mice and one will only eat live mice. I have been giving them their food of choice followed my a f/t rat (pushed in after their first meal by me) for several months now. Still, of the three trouble makers, none will go for the f/t rats on their own.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Some BPs are more willing to feed on the f/t rodents when you heat the rodents to a fairly warm temperature. This tend to stimulate them through their heat sensing pits causing them to go after the prey. Give that a shot if you haven't already. I know this can get frustrating... hang in there. If only BPs are as easy to feed as boas.....

Good luck!
