Tall aquarium's are fine, although homemade/custom built enclosures look fantastic. I firmly believe that a natural/semi-natural vivarium is best for phelsuma's well-being. This includes daily misting, a vertical heat gradient, and enough foliage to provide about a 1:1 ratio of cover and open area. A note on such a cage though, is to be wary of dumping a lot of food items in at once as they will hide easily. Phelsuma m. grandis generally have an aggresive feeding response and feeding one cricket at a time generally goes quickly. Various worms can be kept in a bowl at the bottom and the fruit mixture the same.

Giant Day Geckos live in Madagascar, they need a rainforest tropical type of environment. They are arboreal geckos so they need lots of climbing space, branches, and leaves to climb on. Vertical hide spots are aso what they would need. Day Geckos will not drink from a water dish, so in order to keep them hydrated, you need to mist them daily and they will drink the water from the sides of the cage and the leaves. Misting is also necessary for increasing humidity. Also, the temperature should be 25 to 29 degress Celcius (76 to 85 degrees farenheit).
