Yellowfoot tortoise substrate problems

kyleontheweb Jan 07, 2005 02:59 PM

Hello,

I am looking for some suggestions on good substrate for my yellowfoot tortoises. They are currently on cypress mulch, and it's been problematic due to the wood pieces being sharp and small, and sometimes a tortoise will get them stuck next to their leg or tail. I am looking for something less problematic for them. They are in a very large wooden cage and will need a lot of substrate.

Thank you for any suggestions you can give.
~Kyle
