If I were to use REPTOCAL, could I put it in the bowl containing the minnows and hope that they get covered with some of the formula? Or will it just not work and don't even bother trying it at all? After all, it is a powedered supplement.

It will foul the water. I used to just drop a fish in the tank, and when the snake grabbed it I would pour some supplement on it.
