I need a cage built. basically i want a two story cage...kinda like two cages in one. one for my red tegu and the other for my cuban rock iguana. want it to look nice and be easy to open, easy to clean with glass doors. let me know if you can do something and how much you would charge. thanks

I'm currently building 3 stacking cages (each 4'x2'x2') with the help of my dad's friend who is a wood worker and a damn good cabinet maker. How big would you want the cages? How long would you be willing to wait for them? Because mine aren't very close to being done, and we make them to look nice too (and have framed hinged glass doors). Plus we only get to work on them about once a week, so it would be a bit of a wait. Email me about it and maybe I'll talk to him about it. The two we're working on now are made out of 1/2" birch with the front framed in...maybe it's oak? We can use whatever materials you want. We'd probably have to work like basically you'd front us the money for all of the supplies, and then on delivery pay us a labor charge.

Email me and we'll talk about it. I can't give a definate yes or no though until I can work out a timeline for just how long it would take and figure out if the guy would actually be willing to do it. If not, there is a place called reptile showcase that makes some pretty nice custom cages, but prices are a bit outrageous. Last I asked I think he wanted $400 for a simple 4'x2'x2' cage like the ones I'm building. I only had to pay around $200 for the supplies for all three of mine. I'm also not a big fan of how he keeps his animals. I got a bearded dragon from him and it took over a year to fully rid it of all of its parasites, and his growth was stunted from it.

Have you considered doing it yourself? It's not too difficult if you have a circular saw with a good blade, a drill, a straight-edge clamp, and a decent block plane... You can build out of melamine, which is cheap and doesn't need any fancy finishing. Even if you have to buy some tools, you might save money over paying someone to build a cage for you.
