Imo if size is a concern. You should buy a male colombian boa. They usally top out at 6 ft. A 4 ft. long cage should be all you will need. If your boa is going to be a pet I recommend buying a baby 6 months old or younger.

I have a male that is 6 1/2' and know of atleast 3 other people with males well over 7' so they can get pretty large themselves.. I suggest going with the hogg if size is a major issue with you..

I think a 30 gallon tank should be fine for at least a year or a little longer. A male can be housed in a 40 gallon tank for most of his life.

I have one 01 male that is around 8 feet, and another one that is 7 feet. They can get quite large, but you may can alter the size by his diet, how often you feed and what you feed. Good luck.
