Hand feeding

shell12 Jan 07, 2005 07:44 PM

I have been trying to hand feed my 5 mo old BD. Every once in a while he will take a lick, but that's it. The other day I put some greens in front of his face, and he jumped at it, mouth wide open. I, of course, get a little scared and pull my hand back, which scares him and he runs away. Darn, just when he was starting to trust me!!! Anyways, I am afraid he will bite me. For those of you who hand feed, do you get bit often?

with my experiences hand feeding he seems to grab the food very well without nipping my fingers...there usually very swift and precise with there movements...for example...if you are that scared of being bitten...us a peice of lettuce or what not about the size of his head...he'll have no problem munching on it and you should have no problem not getting bit ;D

I hand feed my (still) gravid female lobster roaches. She loves them, and has never bit me. She does graze my fingers with her nose whenever she pounces on the little-squirmy roach. But that's about it.
