Faded Head Stripe ... anyone got or seen this before ?

JohnBerry Jan 07, 2005 09:10 PM

I recently picked up this adult female. She has the most faded head stripes I have ever seen on a ball python, in fact her whole head is faded brown color. Anyone else have any like this, or have you seen like her before.

cheers, John

Looks totally different than the one above. The one above has a washed-out look because of the head being so light. The one you posted looks like it just has short head stripes, but it's still very nice.

No offense, I just think his is totally different than the one you posted. I have a few females with light brown heads also, but nothing like the one Alphapython posted.

Yours reminds me of a granite.

I have a close up of her head on my site under the collections page. She has the most washed out head I've ever seen after working with Ball pythons for many years. I'll get some better pics in the daylight and post them. She is 1470 grams so I may breed her and see what comes out ...

It's always interesting to me that when someone posts a pic of a unique BP with a certain trait you can always count on someone else to post a pic of theirs claiming it to be the same or VERY similar, but the reality is..... it's not so similar or looks nothing like it. Quite humorous.

Good luck,

Here's a dark snake who's stripes blend in real well - not because he's faded, but because the stripes are so dark.

and a body shot.

JohnBerry Jan 08, 2005 05:26 PM

As you can see there is NO BLACK at all on her head.

Thanks for all your replies.

cheers, John
