New addition to my breeders.

Jilazee Jul 04, 2003 06:48 AM

I added a new female to my enclosure last night she looks great.

Only problem is that the male has since started to nip at both of the females, old and new.

He'd give them a nip and they'd shoot off to the other end of the enclosure. I was up most of last night keeping an eye on them making sure they didn't hurt one another. My two original geckos have changed in behaviour and roam about alot more since the new addition joined them.

Do they normally carm down and all get along after a time?

Sounds like the female is just not receptive to the males advances. Give them some time to settle in and things should calm down. Some females tend to be a little moody when meeting a new male and just need some time adjusting. Just monitor the new addition for signs of stress and be ready to make adjustments as needed.

I have no idea why that pic popped in there! WEIRD!

The male was probably showing the newcomer who was boss...that's all. He probably just wants to keep the girls in line. He should stop within a day or two.
