Thinking of expanding....

I breed mice and rats for the pet stores in my area. I'm not looking or asking for anymore business so please don't consider this an advertisement. Is there a big demand for feeders? What if any is in more demand live or frozen? I am writing a business plan at the moment and need to see what my possible choices are in the future. Thanks to anyone who can help.

This is probably not the best time of year to start. Going into winter and breeding season there won't be as great a demand as in the summer. As for demand in general? I would say that would have to depend on your area and the other sources there.

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?

Really hard to say. It will depend on your area on how much demand. You could ask the petstore you sell to if they always sell them fast, or seem to keep alot in storage before getting more from you. Check other petstores and see how much they sell (if they tell you of course), check with reptile groups, shelters, rescues etc to get an ideal how many order online for supplies and how many would be willing to go for a local source to save on high shipping costs. Even asking the petstores where they get their snakes, they may have local breeders they get them from. Find out who they are and contact them. They may breed their own or order online, giving you another possible market to expand into.
