beardie not growing fast

dstress Jan 08, 2005 07:11 PM

I have two beardies that I got at the same time from the local pet store. One has gone through 3 sheddings now and obviously has grown. The other has only gone through 1 shedding. This one that has gone through one shedding also had some kind of infection that caused it to become disoriented (like an inner-ear infection) that it was treated for. I have had these two since Sept '04 and they are the first are household has ever had, so I am not experienced with them. Also I have taken the bigger of the two out when I first put in live food to give the smaller one a chance at it. The smaller one seems more interested in greens then live food. Any ideas or suggestions?

If you have them both in the same tank the smaller one might be stressed and not eating. Also, if it is stressed parasites might get out of control. If they are together they should be separated into different enclosures. If one is thriving and the other is not I would bet that the larger one is being dominant and stressing out the smaller one. Good luck.
