my chameleon eats the habiscus leaves off her plant i put in the cage and they die really fast. so fast that the other four i've got don't have time to regenurate new leaves. Would it be a big deal if i switch over to the fake leave that u can buy in pet store's? if u could help thanks

I'm assuming that your Cham is a Veiled, since they tend to eat vegetaion and other species do not. If she is used to eating the leaves she'll try to continue doing that, then if she is sucessful at eating fake leaves you could have some big problems on your hand. Two things that you can do are to give her a small salad in a dish made from greens such as collards, mustards, turnips and/or dandelion. Slivered Butternut or Banana Squash. Some fruit such as Raspberries, Papaya or Mango might really get her attention. Another thing would be to switch her plant out for a Broadleaf or Amate Schefflera. This plant would stand up to her powerful grip much better than the Hybiscus, and it is not as tasty to her. I have 1.2 Veileds, and of the three, two of them prefer vegetation to insects. So I give them salads everyday like those I described above. The male eats dandelion greens and some of the squash and one of the females eat Raspberries everyday and they both very healthy. On dusting day, I put the dust on their vegetation rather than insects and they eat it just fine. Hope this helps, Mark.
