just took another hit....it's been a bad winter for me

well my male henkeli "beardo" just bit the dust. this is the first one i would say seems like it might have been natural causes, although theres one weird similarity with my last loss, which was my female phantasticus as she was shedding after she laid an egg. this big wc male was finishing his shed too, and seemingly doing fine. about half an hour ago i thought i heard a weird sound while watching tv, and i looked over and didnt notice anything peculiar. about 30 min later now, i found him hing backward still clinging to the stick he was on finishing his shed. very weird, and now im left with a lone female and no henks came in this latest shipment of uroplatus from what i heard. :

one weird thing i noticed is the reflexes in his tail that are still intact...if i run my finger along the underside of his tail it would automatically wrap around my finger still. this really sucks to have another loss.

even weirder, i just realized that what i heard must have been him throwing up the wad of skin he had swallowed. found it in the fountain right beneath where i found him. im still scratching my head.

keep him in the fridge until you or a vet (preferred) can open him up... IF you can/will do this it will benefit not only the vet in your area, but also people here on the forum... I will also give you the option of sending him to me, myself and a PhD working in Parasitology will be happy to open him up for you and check it out... otherwise, a while back I posted some necropsy photos that may help for reference...

sorry about the loss... they have a tendency to leave you scratching your head…

try and post pics
