Numbers before the morph

Please forgive the question, but could someone please tell me what the numbers mean that come before the description of the dragon? I have been told a few different things. Help???

I think what you are refering to is the 1.1 or 1.3 etc. The number before the decimal is the number of males and the number after the decimal is the number of females.
