What is the best parasite control product out there to use on my beardie? I fed him albino house geckos and of course he contracted parasites. I should have known better, but it was funny to watch him catch them...no more for him though. I took him and another beardie for a checkup. My smaller one got a couple of shots but almost died from shock (with a lot of TLC she is fine now). I DO NOT want to take them to that vet any more and I live in a no-where town. Just need to try myself before I drive all over the state for a better vet...

many people here use parazap as a preventative against parasites. SO far I haven't heard anything bad about it. I haven't used it myself mostly because I can't get it up here (or at least haven't seen it in stores at all). For actual treatment, it depends on what parasite the dragon has. Unfortunately I can't remember which drug is used for which parasite but I do know Albon is used for something (coccidia or hookworm, can't recall which one unfortunately) and the other one I can't remember how to spell LOL. Hopefully other regular posters here with better memories on drug names and uses will post.

Panacur is used for worm treatment and can be purchased online.

Remember your should get a fecal done by a Vet to determine if your beardie has parasites, and what your dealing with.

Kind of helps in the treatment.

Veronica has put together alot of info and items for purchase together there... You can get everything you need to do fecals yourself and a chart to even identify what your looking for as well as the drugs you need to be able to treat each type of parasite/worm. Check it out... you'll be amazed at what she has put together there... I know I am... best site on the net if you ask me....

I used parazap on my Uromastyx to get rid of his parasites.Worked great.After the treatment he began gaining alot of weight and had an increased appetite.So I recommend it.

Yes...I'll second that. ParaZap works great, my beardie had parasite, I gave him the ParaZap and he has now gained weigh and eats like a pig, he also has lots more energy now than he did before I got rid of the parasites.

Sorry if you are upset with me about the whole not following the link thing but I did add good info for this person... I am sorry for your loss of Auggie but why take out your pain out on me? The only other thing I can think of is your friends with this Spook character or possibly reading emails that hasve passed through kingsnake between us or possibly you are Spook? At any rate RULE all you want just make sure you are a fair and just ruler....

On a side note I was playing bait the monkey.... a fun game designed to flush out antagonistic, bitter, trouble makers the other day.... and I think I figured out how this person was getting some info he shouldn't have had access to... hmmm. oh well that's another story all it's own I suppose....

yep parazap is very nice its very good prefentif and also if you have worms it wil killed it good!!
i have noticed with other deworm medicines it can come back later.
and most importent the other medicines kill ofthend the gutflaura the good bacterias in the tummy.
so you have a beardie with no worms left but also with no bacterias.
then he wil not eat wel and need new bacterias to give him his digestion back.
if there whas no parazap then i not have so many dragons.
when i start with beardies i used 1 year panacure and i almost wanan quit.
then the owner of parazap send me a free sample and that sample have made my beardies clean of worms.
after 7 days on 7 days of and 7 days on tea they not got worms and no flagelates any more !
i got both hookworms and flagelates.
so every time if i see this subject i must tell people it helpt me so very nice!!

Quick question for you. What was the purpose of feeding the albino house geckos? I've never heard of feeding a beardie another type of lizard purposely before.

1 male or female mali uro named Milo or molly (not sure anymore)

beardies are carnivorous as well as omniverous... pinkies/lizards.... really what's the differance if your a hungry beardie?....lol Anoles are bred especially for feeders in some cases... some snakes that are kept in many collections are only snake eaters.... so really i don't see anything wrong with feeding it these lizards.... just my opinion...
