Anery/Axanthic?-check it out

M n R-Reptile Jan 09, 2005 12:46 PM

Last year I recieved 2.3 sibling boas from colombia. the 3 females looked the one on the left. Their tails are solid black/charcoal color, not lavendar or light grey like anerys.
They also had striping between some of the saddles connecting the saddles.
Their tails are like type II anerys yet they are 100% pure colombians, straight out of a colombian farm.
Now what would you call these? Anery type III's or Axanthics?
They also had pearlescent sides, which only added to their appearance.
The photo is a comparison shot between an anery on the left and a anery/axanthic on the right.
They are in the hands of a very well known breeder now and hopefully they produce others like the originals!

In the second or third sentence I said the three females looked like the animal to the left, sorry I meant animal on the right.
Here is a shot of the pearlescent siding.

Wait to see if they develop yellow, if not then axanthic.

Just my opinion but they "reseble" surinams in pattern and contrast.

the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg lol. I don't understand how you can possibly part with something like that. I know I wouldn't have!

But I also agree that they look as if they have Suri blood in them with the peaked saddles and the side markings. The darkness of the Black is very interesting. It could be just an unsually dark Anery, to know for sure breed it to another anery to see if they are compatible genes. Also the info on the yellow color is correct. Either way it looks as if it would be a very interesting keeper.
good luck

These look very similar to my Blacktail bloodline.
