New Geckos....

kirkpatrick Jan 09, 2005 01:04 PM

I recently bought two leopard geckos who were kept in an extremely small enclosure with only a branch, no hides. I put them in a thirty gallon with a dry and wet hide. They have been in the wet hide for the past two days, and if I take them out they promptly climb back in. Is this healthy for them? should I remove the dry hide for a little while?

They probably know what they need. You could try putting wet and dry hides on both the warm and cool ends of the tank to give them options (that's 4 hides, temporarily just to see what they do). If they still prefer dampness, they must need it right now.
