We have had our sonoran gopher for a little more than 2 years now and I have to say that between mine and my girlfriend's snakes, Diablo is my favorite. I would love to get another to breed him but I rarely see them at the shows or here in Ga for that matter.
Out of curiosity, do all sonoran gophers have the same disposition? Diablo is very aggressive while in his cage. He will hiss loudly with long exhales and keep his mouth open when I change his water. He seems to be more bark than bite. Once I get him out, I can handle him and he calms down but still on occassion hisses. I can't trust him enough to take him to class rooms with kids even though he has never bitten me.
Other than the attitude he is a magnificent snake.
