Moss help

BryanR. Jan 09, 2005 01:53 PM

Im not having problems at the time, but looking at peoples experience people seem to have trouble with sheet moss. I got some sheet moss from black jungle a few days ago and placed over my eco-earth, which contains gravel under and a false bottom. My lighting is 1 2700k 15W 18 inch Plant Bulb and 1 5000k 15W 18 inch Full Spectrum bulb. its a 29 gallon tank, so I cant go much bigger than 18 inches, well I could, but i dont tihnk its necessary. So what can I do to ensure it grows? It stays moist I mist it once a day too.

One thing I know that kills moss is vitamins. So, pour in your fruit flies somewhere other than on the moss. I think moss is hard to grow unless you have really good lights (compact flourscents, etc.). I personall like leaf litter. Good luck with the moss.

Hmm I've heard a lot about compacts lately, dont have any though. Luckily I feed my frogs outside of their tank, and since their not dart or arrow frogs so I feed them crickets. I hope my lighting is effecient, if not I'll try some more power.
