Little, bitty, Salmon x Hog Island........

East TN Reptile Jan 09, 2005 06:31 PM

This animal was born in May 2004. He's now 8 months old. Eating 2 fuzzy mice every 7 - 10 days. This boa is the size of a normal sized baby boa when born ! Please, without any negativity (cross haters) what's your opinion of this boa being so small ? I have figuered out & know he's a runt but, the way he eats, you'd think he'd be bigger

Hi Dave,
That is an awesome cross. I dont know why he is still so little but you may want to try one approiate sized rat. I have noticed they seem to put more weight on than mice. On a side note hows the female Sunset doing? I know she looked like she was about to pop in the last pictures you posted. Vinnie

He could probablely eat a newborn pinky rat & that would be a big meal for him : ) As far as the other question.......... I hope to have some VERY interesting boas ANY second.
Thanks Again,
Dave, E.T.R.

Image Event photo album.

On that page you say that pics 9, 10, 11, & 12 are all the same snake. That snake in pic #11 and the one you are showing here is a female that went to Gaylynn Carter and it is a Ghost x Hog Island. It is not the same animal as in pics 9, 10, and 12. That is a baby from my March 22 litter and if she has been fed regularly there should be nothing "runty" about her. She was one of the larger ones in the litter when she left here. Regardless, that is not even the same animal as the other three, like you claim.

I think perhaps you have confused your pics. Perhaps a closer look is in order.

and it says below that pics 10 and 11 are a male Salmon Hog that is for sale???? Pic #11 is a baby from my 3/22/04 and it is a female. Gaylynn owns this female as far as I know and that is one of my pics.

I'm not sure what's going on, and I don't want to get involved, but Linda is correct. The snake in picture number 11 is not the same snake that is in pics 9,10, and 12. You can count saddles and tell for sure. I believe 9,10, and 12 had 20 to the vent(same snake), and number 11 had like 25 to the vent(different snake). I'm not taking any sides on who's animal that is in picture 11, but as she said, it's not the same snake as the other three. Good luck getting this all straightened out. Take care

Paul

Paul,
Here are the facts.
Pic 9 was taken on top of my wooden cage,by me
Pics 10, 11 & 13 was taken on top of one of my black racks,by me
Pic 12 was taken outside in a potted plant,by me.
I only produced the one cross last year. The rest of the litter was slugs. I only own the one baby cross that I produced. I have not bought ANY baby crosses............ever
I'm not arguing with you or nothing like that Paul. It's really the same animal. Thanks for your reply Paul but, I wouldn't lie & I have no reason to. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. It really is the same animal though.
Take Care,
Dave : )

If you will go to this link...

http://sierraserpents.com/listing.php?id=30

....you will see that snake in the pic you are showing is the same as this female. The pic you are showing is one of mine originally taken on 4/8/04. I took that whole litter's first pics on black. The pics of her on the website, with the blue background, were taken after she was a little older. "That" snake is one of my females from the March litter.

There is no need to get all defensive. No one is calling you a liar. You have just made a mistake with the pics. However, I would correct it if I were you, since from the wording on your photo album, you appear to be selling a male Salmon x Hog and using this pic to show the animal.

Can't deny the saddle count. I'm also not trying to take sides but I think a mistake has been made. That is Linda's pic and animal.
