I think my Collared lizard is sick

Geezle Jan 09, 2005 07:25 PM

I need help! I'm worried about her. I've had my collared lizard for a little under two weeks now, and she has seemed fine so far, however she hasn't eaten for the past two days, and has been quite inactive. I've read that they sometimes won't recognize water in a dish, so could dehydration be causing this? I haven't actually ever seen her drink, but I mist her plants daily.

I think it may have been the superworms I fed her a couple days ago...it was the first time I'd given them to her and she forced the last one one down. Could overeating cause that type of reaction? I noticed that she'd passed them last night, and now she's pretty much back to her normal self, although she hasn't eaten yet.

to go a few days without eating. Unless its a very young lizard.
If everything else is fine your basking temps, and your collared is not losing any weight and appears healthy, then he just may not eat every day.

Some only feed their adults every other day. So if everything else looks good, I would not worry, they seem to slow during this season anyway, some are brumating/hybernating.

I think she may have just overeaten and it didn't go well for her. She's back eating fine again now, and she's back to being quite active again. I'll get pics as soon as I can for you guys
