Suriname and Guyana redtail boa is the same snake (more...)

H+E Stoeckl Jan 09, 2005 07:47 PM

Many people regarded Suriname and Guyana redtail boas as two different snakes. This is wrong.

I thought they would already be extinct due to the godawful breeding results and the difficulties to find food with only one eye ;o)

Hi Hoppy,
I am glad that at least one was missing me. I hope you also had a great holiday season.

I cross my fingers for you for the breeding season this year.

Regarding the Albino Boas that I used to have: Ever heard about Saul who changed to Paul? *LOL*

So it is never too late to change from the dark side to the light and get forgiveness.

SO ALL OF YOU MORPH BREEDERS: CHANGE NOW OR YOU WILL FALL TO THE MALADY OF DAMNATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truly concerned about your immortal souls

On another note, I often see people refer to Boas that are supposedly from Guyana as Guyanan... I do believe the proper way to describe something that is native to Guyana is Guyanese. No big deal... just something that always bugged me.

The English language is my second hobby and I am always grateful for such hints!

Thanks again! Have a great breeding season!

I have had friends tell me that boas in my collection looked like they were from guyana because of this trait or that trait but they are the same exact snake. no differences. It's funny I have seen SuriXGuyana crosses for sale at a local herp shop, he told me it had more of a Suri pattern but with the color of a guyana a great buy for $1000 LOL. And about the whole albino thing, these boas look fine the way they are.

I was just saying. Actually the well bred Kahl strain Surinam Albino, namely the line from Brian Sharp, are actually nicer. I was just mentioning that for those with a love for BCC, they can now enjoy a new morph, of course it will be some time before any are available.

I just put it at the end of the thread, nothing to do with your topic really.

Does anyone have a pic to show here?
