Just curious... how is everyone heating their snake enclosures? I have UTH's on my tanks and I'm looking for something better given that they only heat a small area.

UTH's are not the best if you're trying to provide significant heat to an enclosure, especially a larger terrarium in a cooler room.

For this situation radiant heat panels are the best way to go, IMO. Heat lamps with bulbs or ceramic heater emitters aren't bad either.

for the aquairums i have converted to vivariums, i use a blacklight - mainly because my rats love climbing and i am afraid that an uth will not heat all the air in the cage as evenly.

for my wooden cages i use radiant heat panels.

Sounds like your uth might be to small for the cage. You can use flexwatt or the radients heat panels for a big cage are your best bet...
