what do you consider huge??
there is lots of pythons that stay small...carpets, spotted, childrens, ball (kinda boring though) and lots more...just kinda depends on what exactly you are looking for in a snake

personally i have a jungle carpet python. for me this was a snake that got some size for a single person to handle but not hugh like the biger pythons or boas that take 3-4 people to handle. she is 6 foot right now and about as thick as a persons thumb and middle finger together.
there are a couple of web sites about pythons in general. one is www.acreptiles.com and a new one i just checked out for a moment called python palace.
do your homework and your sure to find the right python for you.

You will find Spotted or Children's pythons to be very easy and very docile as adults. They get about 4ft or so and have a body girth like a big Florida king (females can get more girthy than that.) Too bad there are no striking color morphs.

I more recently got a baby Savu python (Indonesia). The snake is active when held but doesn't thrash and has never tried to bite. He eats like a champ right in front of me while I'm servicing his cage. I hear that Savus get about 4-5 ft and stay somewhat slender. Neat animal, I really like him. Maintenance has been a piece of cake thus far.

If you don't mind a 6ft plus snake, carpet pythons are a pleasure.

I like the looks of ball pythons but find them exceedingly boring as captives IMO. They still make good pets though. They sometimes go off feed but it is never a problem.

Savu's also have an added bonus of a color change from Red babies to Blackish Adults, There not a very common snake either but there not terribly hard to find.

Carpets are one of the species I keep and out of the ones i have kept, I have found that carpets make a much more interesting pet then did the so called perfect beginner snake aka Ball python. Carpets aren't hard to keep, or take care of they do have one slight problem, They are as baby's quite nippy however its a baby take a few nips for the good of your collection lol.

Irian Jaya Carpet pythons are very docile in nature, can be strikingly colored, and males top out at somewhere around 4.5-5 feet in length (smaller than even your kingsnake); females slightly bigger than that.
