I just gotten a rock from someone that did not want it any more
he said it was mean but he seems fine to me just feed him two large mice yesterday . I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the rocks i have a burm and to RT boas. I think they are just like the burms as far as the care but i am just checking .Thanks for any input.

I have heard alot from people who have and they are more aggro for the most part. I am not saying that there are no tame ones but for the most part they are a little more.... Protective. People used to say the same about retics but now look how popular they are now. You should work with it alot.

As far as husbandry, it is the same as a Burm. As far as temperment, *generally* they are known to be more aggressive. You do NOT want to come in contact with a wild Rock. Of course raising it since it is a hatchling will drastically improve its chances of being much more docile. They are also known to be very intelligent. I would love to see some pics of yours. How big is he/she.

While I am not an expert on rock pythons I do keep one currently and have had experience with them. The temperment can be a bit advanced (for lack of better term) but I have seen variation. My rock has yet to attempt to strike any human but I by no means will ever take this for granted. The care is roughly the same as a burm but they are native much further from the equator. They are still pretty easy RI catchers though so keep your temps above 80 F. I think you are very lucky to get the snake if you are equipt to care for it because I believe them to be one of the most under rated snakes in the hobby. I also have found them to be pretty intelligent and it is one of the only snakes I have that does not start stiking at everything the second food comes in the room and if a great feeder. Stay on your toes because I think they will be fully aware when they are capable of intimidating you. I am falling in love with my P.sebae so I give you Congratulations for your new companion.
