Picture of a very young hypo tangerine?

geicogecko Jan 10, 2005 03:36 PM

I want to find pictures of tangerines and hypos when they are very young because I wanted to compare so I can see what I'm possibly missing when I go to buy one.

Here is a pic that was posted a couple days ago by GeckoBill2112

http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.php?photo=184982

The one on the left is what normals look like as hatchlings. The stripes are dark black and solid.

The one on the right will turn out with probably no black on the body and alot or orange. notice the black faded on the head. If it was a normal, the black would face at about 7 weeks old or a little less. Thats the only pic I can think of with a great example.

You can look at about any gecko and see what it will look like if you have seen as many as me grow up.

I remember this pic because I wanted the one on the right, lol.

WOW. (Is he for sale?) But I've had babies that looked like yours in the first pic and dont look anywhere near as tang as he does as adults. So can you really tell for sure as a hatchling (whether the orange will stay or fade) without maybe getting a look at the parents? (cant do that at a show, tho.)

He is a she, and no she isn't for sale, but her babies will be this year.

You should have started out with snakes so it would be ok to mix it up.

Also, the mother is the gecko in my signature. The father I no longer have, as he was sold last year, replaced by a better male that I produced 2 years ago.
