Update on Carpet Chameleon

I know about stress, and I am trying to minimize it. I moved its cage closer to the window to give fresh hair and a bit of sun. Two great things happened. He loves the sun (turning bright green) and another thing I observed. Tonight when I glanced nt eh cage I saw little things flying around trying to get to the UV bulb. They are not tiny moths!! Perfect for my chameleon's size. I saw him spend about 5 minutes tracking one down and eating him up. I also saw him rubbing his eye on the screen cage. Thats not too bad is it?

the itching could be bad if he keeps it up...it could get infected. just keep an eyey on him (no pun intended) and if he keeps it up put his cage or large plant in the shower and run the shower for about 1/2 hour and only let the water hit 1/2 the plant. this should humidity should allow him to dislodge whatever may be in there.
also, the wild moths are great, but just be sure that they don't use any pesticides near by. i have never had a problem with my panther tagging any wild insects.

He is only a month old, and showering might be too stressful. If i were to shower I'd stick my entire cage in the shower with the head on misting, but I think hes too young.

For feeding, have you thought about three or four day old just hatched silkworms? Mine just hatched a few days ago and are pretty substantial for little worms less than 1/4 in size...Would it work?

if you could showering the "entire" cage would be good.

just move the cage where ever you need to....i used to use the garden hose but its too cold now.

anyways spray half the cage for about 15 to twenty minutes.

if you cant spray half spray the enitire cage for less than 5 minutes and then let him warm up under the basking lamp for and hour or so and shower him agian for 5 min or less.

I used to spary for 2 minutes about every 2 hours during the summer when my cham was outside and it work fine.

only thing to watch is the water temp make sure it feel luke warm once it gets too the cham (mists cool quickly)
