Feisty Feeding Response WOW

Man, I dropped a cricket in, the female dropped 20 inches for it. The male watched as usual. Then I dropped another in right after, and the male's tail was right near the female's mouth..well that was just a bit too close and one movement her eyeballs couldn't handle. Lightly she just bit his tail, I was like, CRAP, there goes his tail.

Fortunately she wasn't going after his tail any more, and he easily slid it out of her mouth.

Then with his cricket, the male Mossy decided to climb out the tank. I just kneeled and he just looked at me and ate his cricket. It was sooooo COOL!!! A little bit of nature. He walked around the edges before another crickete caught his gaze, and then hopped back in for more. It was really NEAT. Living with LeafTails!!!

i like watching mine come to life when food is tossed in. they're just laying there looking like they're asleep and then WHAM! or else they pick up their heads and follow them around until the cricket comes into just the right spot. my female lineatus will sit on a piece of bamboo and wait for the crickets to climb up a nearby plant and then slam them when they do. it's quite humorous to watch.

They are considerably more patient than my leopard gecko ever was.

They are indeed wonderful animals. My female is a little piggy, no doubt there..if only my male would gain a little size and not be so shy about eating in front of me. I like to make sure they are getting somewhat equal amounts of food.
