Just got her a couple of weeks ago for $150 shipped. I love her. Also, the best way to get it out of its cage?

I personally would not recomend two snakes together unless breeding them.
These two get along great, but have their tank divided. I took down the divider for the picture. I will periodically let them together while keeping a close close eye on them. I obviously dont do this around feeding and sheds.
The reason for this rule, is simple. Health. I am sure you want what is best for both of them, that's why you are asking questions.
Pythons can carry things that do not harm them but could be detrimental to boas, and vise-versa.
If they are both CBB you do not have to worry as much. My suggestion was just that a recommendation. I have never done it, but heard not to.
Thanks Chris. I am new to all of this and i do care greatly about them. they are both captive bred...but i dont want anything to happen to them. Thanks!!!
I don't remember who it was but someone on this forum had a Dumerils that ate another snake. The two were caged together.

Dumeril's dont get that large, and my two are within 6 inches of eachother...it would be no small feat...but I have another aquarium that i can keep my ball python in for now, and when it gets larger, ill get it it's own 50 gallon!
When I owned a Dumeril it tried to eat anything that it came in contact with. Not right away.......But, if you put it in another tank with a boa for cleaning she would try. I personally don't trust housing Dumerils together.
I have also seen quite a few pics of baby Dumerils housed together were one ate the other.
I know you have a divider between them. I personally think it would be good to keep it that way.
Great looking animals.

Just cause thier close to the same size dont mean they wont try to eat eachother ive seen pics of one snake eating another that was too big and it couldnt get it all the way down and both snakes wound up dead.

i appreciate all of yalls help. they are seperated now...in different tanks. the dumeril in her 50 gallon, and i have the ball right now in a 20gal until i can get a larger tank.
thanks once again
Hunter
Ive had them eat each other. Only once but it was the one time I screwed up. Ive always been very careful about keeping them seperate because I knew that dumerils would eat other snakes. The one time I was in a rush to pack for a show I threw a dumerils and a columbian, same size, in a bag togther. 4hrs later at the show unpacking I got one huge fat snake in the bag and it wasnt the columbian. They can pack down an equal sized snake no differant then a kingsnake can pack a larger rattler down. Unless you personally know the breeder the ball came from ods are it is C.B. not C.B.B., there is a differance. C.B.B. is captive born and bred which means it parents were captive animals that bred and produced the offspring in captivity. C.B. means captive born which normal implies a wild caught gravid female dropped the offspring in captivity or in your case the eggs. If it came from a pet store or a broker ods are its CB imported very few people bred normal ball pythons because there a couple hundred thousand imported ever year anyway the whole point I am getting at is imported CB balls if not handled properly prior to being shipped in can have some of the worst bacterial loads youll find in any animal. best of luck

Tomorrow im going to make a 'make shift' housing unit out of a huge (5 foot) rubbermaid container until i can build my own.
I learned the best thing is preventative action. Glad to hear you were able to get them their own cage. They will probably each like the extra space of their own.
