Any one have any experience with Petsmart Aspen bedding good or bad?

Bobs Jan 10, 2005 09:30 PM

I've been using shredded aspen for the last 15 years without any problems. It seemed much less dusty than the compressed aspen I've been using and the price for a very large bag and the convienient handle on the bag seemed interesting. Thanks for your time. BobS.

I've been using the aspen bedding for about 3 months for my 25 snakes. I switched from shredded aspen because of cost. The juveniles burrow through the stuff just fine and I find the coarser pieces hold their tunnels very well. It seems more likely to mold than the shredded aspen, but if you clean daily mold is not a problem.

Thanks Bob. Do you find it any more likely to be ingested than the shredded stuff. The lower cost and dust is certainly attractive.

I haven't had any ingestion problems with any substrate that I've used.
