I just happened to drive by a reptile show here in Miami, Fl this weekend and ended up going home with a baby iguana. They told me it was about 6 months. He is about 6 inches long (not counting his long tale). The poor thing was petrified. I placed him in an extra chameleon screen enclosure i had. He is in there with some plants and a large branch to climb. I've been leaving different kinds of food for him, but he doesn't seem interested, although i think he did eat the pumpkin.
What specefic items should i use as a staple in his diet?
What type of enclosure should i begin to plan?
I have a large screened in terrace where i currently have him. He gets sun most of the day. Is this a good location?
Does south florida weather ever get too cold for iguanas?
I know they run around here in the thousands but i was wondering if captive ones need to be brought indoors during really cold weather.
Sorry for the long emal.
