Twins...?

Quinton Jan 11, 2005 09:51 AM

We've all heard about two snakes emerging from one egg. Some of us have actually seen it.

My question is- Is this a genetic type thing?

From what I understand in humans it is. Has anyone looked into this or is it just me thinking a little to hard?

It happens whether it's genetic or not I can't personnally answer that but here is a picture of Siamese Twins that went pretty much full term but did not hatch. This is what I found in the egg.

Here are some twins I hatched out last year.
Terrible picture...but you get the idea.
I have no idea if it is a genetic thing or not!

Dizygotic twins can run in families and be heritable. Monozygotic twins are just chance in nature and show no heritability.
