Sounds to me like a judgement call. If your friends standards are as high or higher than yours; and the animals are not sick in any way; I don't see a problem.

No offense to you or your friend, but I would reconsider the 50/50 split of those eggs. A pairing like that would not normally yield a 50/50 breakdown of offspring.

Are you suggesting the pastel male owner should get more or less than a 50% split?

I guess I can see this being anyware from half to 1/10 of his annual breeding effort but it's all of the girls annual effort and they take a lot more time and feeders to get to breeding size. At this point his monetary value might only be twice to 4 times that of big normal cb females if you want to figure the split that way. If two females are half of his breeding effort and he is 4 times more valuable than each (twice as valuable as both together) then perhaps a 50/50 split is perfect.

Randy, I see what you're saying and I feel that the pastel owner, regardless of how many females he is breeding, should still get more than 50% of the clutch. The way that you broke it down, you were dividing the value of females into the male. In that case, if a male pastel were bred to someone elses normal female, then a 1:2 or 1:4 price breakdown is in order. If the male pastel ($1500 Cdn.)is valued at 4 times the female normals ($400 Cdn.), the breakdown of the clutch would bot be 50/50 but 25/75. The owner of the male pastel would split the clutches 50/50 if he breeds 4 females successfully ($400 X 4 = $1600 (the price of the male pastel). Last I checked clutches were split according to value of the snakes in a breeding loan.
