Cali King Eating

jayman21 Jan 11, 2005 01:41 PM

It is now January 11, 2005. My snake jynx has not eaten since October 9th, 2004. What do i do? Now I don't see any problem within him not eating for 2 weeks, even a month, but it's been 3 months and i'm beginning to think it's a big problem. People have told me he's been hibernating because of the winter, but i know damn well that any cali king would eat, all my friends snakes still eat, just not as often. Mine doesn't eat at all. What should I do? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, here's a pic.

Why don't you just put him in a dark area, with 50 degree temperatures, and brumate him until March or April? I've heard of people feeding them a snake once they go off feed for a long time, and that usually brings back their appetite.

Oh I don't know about that, I don't think that my captive bred cali would be able to substand that cold of temps. Are you sure this would be ok? If so, for how long and how do i know he can stay alive in that cold of temp? Thanks write.
