Okl well my brother just got his first w/c ball python from reptle city....Of course he didnt listen to me and get a c.b....anyway the sanke is around 32" and 1 1/2 inches fat. It is a male...I was thinking of a small rat diet every 10 days? That sound good? Also should this snake be ok since its w.c? Should it eat good and all that good stuff? Thanks

ps" sorry foprgot to ask this...How fat does a full grown male ball usually get?

Thanks alot,
Jake and Bobby

It COULD do fine if the importer or pet store was responsible and had it checked for any parsites. Definitely keep it a quarantine enclosure away from close proximity of any other snakes, at least until you have achance to see if it has anything (get a vet check). I feel the enclosure should be as sterile as possible for this time frame. I like to use white butcher paper for quarantine because you can see mites and other abnormal things against the white back ground. Maintain clean water and make sure it has good hide spot.

Your feed regimine sounds fine but keep in mind w/c balls have been known to be difficult feeders for awhile in captivity. Start now in learning all the tricks to feeding if you don't already know them, even cbb balls can be picky so it's a good idea (all snakes can be for that matter). Remember w/c animals don't eat f/t food in the wild so be prepared to introduce live prey and wacth close wean them to fresh killed then f/t as soon as it is eating regularly. I would start out with mice first because of the live factor (rats have bigger teeth).

Keep posting with ? and hope all goes well.
